So, a couple of changes to the website.

Invariably there will be bugs here and there, hopefully only graphical in nature, but you never know in a live environment. If you have any issues with the new site, PM me or catch me in game.

Following is a list of new features, then a list of things I'm looking into for the future. If you have any feedback, there's a post in General Chat where you can vent.

Draegan

FEATURES:

Portal front page, including:
- Multi-engine search (click the dropdown for Wowhead, Curse, etc)
- Local and server time for the raid time impaired like myself
- Raid Progression
- Guild application status
- Vent Status (click Show to see empty channels)
- 4 board styles: WoW: Alliance, WoWMaevahEmpire and WoWMoonclaw are all darker, wow-ish themes, and MRSilver is an adaption of subsilver2 for those who prefer the lighter look
- Server status - up or down, plus population load
- Crappy header graphics - any artists out there feel free to submit new ones: 120px high by 600px wide max, optional 120px by whatever bookend graphics
- Also, a new bbcode link system that will link to characters, items and more via the armory and Wowhead - check out the full post about this in General Chat

FUTURE CHANGES:

- Built in Gallery
- Crafting roster
- Various armory-based info once Blizzard makes the Cataclysm changes

So for the headers are you able to specify different files for the different themes, or should i try to make one set that goes with all of them?
I would love to tailor a set for each theme if possible...

I changed the board code internally in each style so the header graphics can be completely independent, so feel free to make a different header for each style :)

One thing to keep in mind though, I decided to go with a variable width layout, so I can't use the headers posted earlier unless they can be reworked to fit a repeating background.

If necessary, I can change the header height if 120px doesn't quite work, but I want to limit the size a little so the content doesn't get pushed below the bottom of the browser too much for those using smaller monitors.

Awesome! I will post up some first drafts of each theme soon...

No worries about using the previous stuff, they were mostly just to gauge interest in each style. The finished products will be on transparent layers and will work fine on the backgrounds used by the themes.

BTW- I like the way you used black highlight elements in the header you made, it makes the graphic look quite different on the varying backgrounds without having to change files...

Added another small feature to the website/forums: you can now quote Blizzard official "blue" posts just like MMO-Champion does.

It uses two new BBCodes, blizzheader= and blizzpost. Each quoted post requires both, blizzheader= first. Mouse over the BBCodes to see how they work.

Here's an example:

Blizzheader=
- SOURCE URL as http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=23766796558&sid=1
- POSTER'S NAME as Eyonix

Blizzpost
- BODY OF POST as (duh) the text of the quoted post

e.g.

Quote from: Eyonix (Source)

As some of you may already be aware, we will not be renewing the World of Warcraft: The Trading Card Game license with Upper Deck. We want to assure you that we are committed to supporting the TCG, and players can look forward to new content and strong organized play support in the near future. We will share additional details about the game’s transition to a new partner as soon as possible. For those awaiting tournament prizes, we will ensure you receive them.

You can use other BBCodes inside the post body to help format, although I haven't tested all of them so there could be quirks.

Have fun,

Drae
